Network Alterations in Comorbid Chronic Pain and Opioid Addiction: An Exploratory Approach.Rachel F. Smallwood, Larry R. Price, Jenna L. Campbell, Amy S. Garrett, Sebastian W. Atalla, Todd B. Monroe, Semra A. Aytur, Jennifer S. Potter & Donald A. Robin - 2019 - Frontiers in Human Neuroscience 13:448994.
The comorbidity of chronic pain and opioid addiction is a serious problem that has been growing with the practice of prescribing opioids for chronic pain. Neuroimaging research has shown that chronic pain and opioid dependence both affect brain structure and function, but this is the first study to evaluate the neurophysiological alterations in patients with comorbid chronic pain and addiction. Eighteen participants with chronic low back pain and opioid addiction were compared with eighteen age- and sex-matched healthy individuals in a (...)

Wigner and his many friends: A new no-go result?Sebastian Fortin & Olimpia Lombardi - unknown
In April 2016, Daniela Frauchiger and Renato Renner published an article online in which they introduce a Gedankenexperiment that led them to conclude that single-world interpretations of quantum theory cannot be self-consistent. In a new version of the paper, published in September 2018, the authors moderate their original claim by concluding that quantum theory cannot be extrapolated to complex systems, at least not in a straightforward manner. The purpose of this short article is to clarify the core of the F-R (...)

On the putative possibility of non‐spatio‐temporal forms of sensibility in Kant.Simon R. Gurofsky - 2020 - European Journal of Philosophy 28 (4):841-856.
This paper defends Kant against a neo‐Hegelian line of criticism, recently advanced by John McDowell, Robert Pippin, and Sebastian Rödl, targeting Kant's alleged claim that forms of sensibility other than space and time are possible. If correct, the criticism identifies a deep problem in Kant's position and points toward Hegel's position and method as its natural solution. I show that Kant has the philosophical resources to respond effectively to the criticism, notably including the set of claims about the limits of (...)

In this article (...)

Revista de Pensament I Anàlisi 13:121-136.

    Sexual Morality.R. F. Atkinson - 1993 - Hutchinson.
This work critically examines types of argument about issues in sexual morality. Its two aims are to show, with examples, how apparently abstract moral philosophy bears on practical problems, and to contribute to the resolution of issues that were controversial when it was written.

This volume critically and constructively discusses philosophical questions which have particular bearing on the formulation of educational aims. The book is divided into three major parts: the first deals with the nature of education, and discusses the various general aims, such as 'mental health', 'socialization' and 'creativity' which have been thought to characterize it; the second section is concerned with the nature of reason and its relationship to feeling, will and action; finally the development of different aspects of reason in (...)

From Defect to Deity.R.

Answer to Job: (From Vol. 11 of the Collected Works of C. G. Jung).R. F. C. Hull (ed.) - 2010 - Princeton University Press.
Considered one of Jung's most controversial works, Answer to Job also stands as Jung's most extensive commentary on a biblical text. Here, he confronts the story of the man who challenged God, the man who experienced hell on earth and still did not reject his faith. Job's journey parallels Jung's own experience--as reported in The Red Book: Liber Novus--of descending into the depths of his own unconscious, confronting and reconciling the rejected aspects of his soul. This paperback edition of Jung's (...)
